Information for Doctors

For referring practitioners, the conditions I am most expert in treating, and therefore for which referrals to me are most appropriate, are as follows:

  • Achilles, patellar, hamstring and other tendinopathies
  • Groin injuries (e.g. adductor tendinopathy, sports hernia)
  • Iliotibial band friction syndrome (I have had this on both legs!)
  • Other running and sprinting injuries (I am a distance runner)
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Hamstring and other muscle strains
  • Tennis elbow and rotator cuff tendinopathies
  • Ultrasound-guided PRP (platelet rich plasma), polidocanol, cortisone, prolotherapy injections
  • Shock wave therapy for calcific tendon disorders

Medicare requires that all patients to sports physicians have a referral from another medical practitioner (usually a GP). A return letter is always provided back to the referring doctor.
